With a former starting quarterback, starting running and Mackey Award-winning tight end heading off to the pros, there are plenty of changes afoot in Fayetteville for the Arkansas Razorbacks.

The offense has its question marks, needing to replace starters at all the skill positions except for wide receiver. The defense needs to be better, and it appears that it will be considering that the players who dominated the spring were mostly on the defensive side of the ball.

Now that the books are closed on spring practice, these are the top 10 players on the Razorbacks:

10. McTelvin “Sosa” Agim, DL

Agim, a critical five-star recruit for the Razorbacks in 2016, arrived on campus early to get in an extra spring and start working with the UA defense. He proved right away that he has the talent to play right away, and he also showed off a feisty side. He’s going to need to keep his emotions in check, but there’s no denying the talent is there. His presence makes the defensive line stronger and deeper.

9.  Frank Ragnow, OL

With a new quarterback, new running backs and a new starting tight end, it’s going to be critical that the Razorbacks get a lot of production out of its offensive line. Ragnow will need to be a big part of that. He started at right guard all last year but is going to work at center in 2016, and that’s such a critical position that will require a high level of play. Ragnow looks ready to step up.

8. Jared Collins, DB

Collins was an unheralded recruit when he arrived in Fayetteville, but he’s played well for two years and is being counted on to make a big impact this season. He’s the most talented of the bunch in the secondary, and he also might benefit the most from the arrival of new defensive backs coach Paul Rhoads.

7.  Austin Allen, QB

Some may question whether Allen belongs on this list, but he’s here because of the position he plays and he’s here because he did play well all spring in winning the job. He’s waited patiently for three years while big brother Brandon Allen started at QB. Now is his chance, and he has the skills and mental makeup to hit the ground running.

6.  Drew Morgan, WR

Arkansas is so loaded at wide receiver, but it’s Morgan who set the tone last year and is expected to be a key contributor again in 2016. He had 63 catches last year and had his biggest games in key wins over Tennessee and Ole Miss that ruined their respective seasons. It’s going to be interesting to see how roles change this year with Keon Hatcher back, but Morgan will always be a big factor.

5.  Dan Skipper, RT

Skipper is a man-child at right tackle, a big 6-foot-10 monster who will keep the right side clean for the Razorbacks. Skipper flirted with jumping to the NFL but decided to stick around hoping to get stronger and develop better technique. With a new offensive line coach on board (Kurt Anderson), Skipper is developing into a great leader as well.

4. Brooks Ellis, LB

Ellis is the undisputed leader of the defense. He knows how to run a group, and his leadership will be obvious this year as the Razorbacks try to shore up their problems of giving up big plays that haunted them a year ago. Ellis isn’t the fastest middle linebacker out there, but he’s never out of position and he knows how to lower the boom.

3. Dre Greenlaw, LB

Greenlaw did something in 2015 that rarely gets done, getting rave reviews as a true freshman starting at a position that was new to him. Greenlaw was a safety in high school but switched to outside linebacker and made an immediate impact. He was great all spring, too, and big things are expected of him this fall.

2. Jeremy Sprinkle, TE

Sprinkle played in the shadow of Mackey Award winner Hunter Henry last year, but he proved this spring that he’s ready to make a run for that award himself in 2016. He had a great spring and will be a comfort for new quarterback Austin Allen as a go-to guy who seems to always be open.

1. Deatrich Wise, DE

Wise was so good and so dominant all spring that at times coach Bret Bielema had to take him off the field just so the offense could get some work done. Now that’s impressive. The Arkansas defensive line is going to be much better in 2016, and Wise is a big reason why.
