If you missed the news Thursday evening, Arkansas is moving its upcoming spring game to Little Rock due to the current ongoing construction of Razorback Stadium in Fayetteville. The stadium is currently being renovated and is scheduled to open for the start of the 2018 football season.

The upcoming Arkansas spring game will be played Saturday, April 7 and 1 p.m. CT. The contest will be free for all fans to attend.

Following that decision, Arkansas Athletic Director Hunter Yurachek joined Bo Mattingly on his daily radio show Sports Talk with Bo to discuss the reasoning behind the decision.

Mattingly followed those thoughts by asking a question regarding the renovations to Razorback Stadium: Will the stadium be ready for 2018 season opener?

“Absolutely… that project is on schedule and on budget,” the Arkansas AD said. “Come Sept. 1 (Arkansas opens at home against Eastern Illinois), I think fans are going to love what they’re going to see.”

The radio host then asked about the future of games at Little Rock, outside of the upcoming spring game and the 2018 regular season game against Ole Miss. As you might expect, Yurachek was noncommittal about Arkansas’ future of playing in Little Rock.

“We’re going to continue to evaluate the situation and a plan for moving forward,” he responded.
