Arkansas tight end Cheyenne O’Grady had a huge game against Texas A&M this past Saturday, catching eight passes for 91 yards as the Razorbacks were defeated 31-27 by the Aggies.

For his performance, O’Grady has been recognized as the Mackey Award’s Player of the Week, given to the performer at that position each week during the season.

The senior now has 18 receptions for 243 yards and a touchdown in four games for the Razorbacks. Against the Aggies, he became a top target for quarterback Ben Hicks, who entered the game to replace Nick Starkel and threw for 188 yards on 15-of-27 passing attempts.

O’Grady’s numbers place him first in the SEC in receptions, receiving yards and yards after the catch from the tight end position.

O’Grady follows Notre Dame’s Cole Kmet and Washington’s Hunter Bryant as recipients of the award this season. The Razorbacks have had two tight ends win the yearly award in the past —  D.J. Williams in 2010 and Hunter Henry in 2015.

The only other SEC player to receive the award was Florida’s Aaron Hernandez in 2009.
