D’Eriq King has entered the NCAA transfer portal, beginning the process of leaving Houston for a new school.

Where is King headed? Well, a few Arkansas players are hoping that the quarterback will pick the Razorbacks. And they’ve made it public they’re that actively trying to convince him to do so.

On Monday night, wide receiver Trey Knox took to Twitter to begin the recruitment of King:

Or so he thought. Running back Rakeem Boyd then let Knox know that he’s already tried to convince King that he should come to Arkansas:

Arkansas has already lost some quarterback depth this offseason as Nick Starkel is transferring to San Jose State. King would likely immediately be the Razorbacks’ starter if he decided to come to their school.

King played in only four games for Houston in 2019, then announced he would redshirt the rest of the season. He passed for 663 yards and six touchdowns and rushed for 312 yards and six touchdowns prior to that decision.

In 2018, King passed for 2,982 yards and 36 touchdowns and rushed for 674 yards and 14 touchdowns.
