Though Arkansas WR Brandon Martin was a highly regarded JUCO prospect and a big part of the Razorbacks’ 2017 class, he got off to a slow start this season, recording only one catch for 15 yards through the team’s first five games.

On Saturday, though, he made more of an impact, catching four passes for 34 yards against No. 1 Alabama.

Now healthy, Martin told WholeHogSports.com that he’s ready for a bigger role in the offense and excited to get on the field more often:

“It is a blessing that I can be out there to help my team to try and win some games,” Martin said. “I just had to take a different approach to learning the plays and getting healthy.

“…I am very excited. It was a struggle. If it wasn’t one thing, it was another so I just had to put in overtime in the training room to be able to get on the field.”

The Hogs will need players to step up in the next few weeks after starting QB Austin Allen was injured vs. South Carolina and may miss a few more games.

Fortunately, it seems Martin has some chemistry with backup QB Cole Kelley, so perhaps the Hogs will have a new top QB-WR combo moving forward.
