The Arkansas Razorbacks fired coach Bret Bielema immediately after the season-ending loss to Mizzou the day after Thanksgiving.

Bielema didn’t land a new job this offseason, but Sports Illustrated’s Andy Staples reports that he’s been offered NFL assistant jobs and TV gigs.

It sounds like Bielema’s preference would be to return to coaching, and he gave a funny reason why he wants to get back on the sidelines as soon as possible (via SI.com):

“I had a morning last week where I had to drop the dogs off to get groomed, pick up a UPS package, make a stop at the pharmacist to pick up a prescription for my daughter and pick the dogs back up,” said Bielema, who became a dad for the first time in July. “I said ‘I need to get back into coaching pretty quick. This is getting to be too much.’”

Bielema will likely end up back in the coaching ranks soon, but he’ll probably have to spend the 2018 season doing television or something else.

Where he ends up next remains to be seen, but for now, it seems he’s enjoying parenthood about as much as he can with such a hectic schedule.
