In a somewhat unusual circumstance, spring camp did not end at Arkansas until Wednesday, despite the Razorbacks holding the annual Red-White game the prior weekend in Little Rock.

Following the conclusion of Chad Morris’ first spring camp in Fayetteville, the Arkansas coach met with the media for his final press conference of the spring. However, before getting into football business, Morris addressed the recent incident that occurred over the weekend at an Arkansas fraternity house.

It’s unclear at this time if any Razorbacks were involved in anything they shouldn’t have been, but the university felt the situation was serious enough to issue a statement and refer to it as an “incident” that has required some investigation by local law enforcement.

The first thing Morris did during his Wednesday media availability was discuss the situation, as best as he could publicly.

“Addressing an event that occurred this weekend. I know our university and athletic department has issued a statement… A review is underway, we are investigating it. Our police department here on campus is investigating it,” Morris said. “I’m limited in the details and I can go into but our standard is best, and as I’ve shared from the beginning — with our team and with y’all, we have high expectations for our players, for our student-athletes both on and off the field. We are definitely involved in this as far as the investigation going on with that, I’m going to close on that.”

Here is the statement the university issued in response to the incident over the weekend.

The University of Arkansas Department of Intercollegiate Athletics has been made aware of an incident occurring this past weekend at an event. The event was attended by University of Arkansas students, including members of the football team. The incident is currently being reviewed by UAPD and the Office of Student Standards and Conduct. The Department of Intercollegiate Athletics will have no further comment until the completion of the review.

Morris did acknowledge that a few players missed the final practice of spring following this incident but declined to reveal who those players were or why they did not participate.

“I’m going to be limited in what I can say there,” Morris said.

Here is a video allegedly capturing some of the incident, posted by John Nabors host of ESPN Arkansas program The Morning Rush. At this time, no Razorbacks have been publicly named or connected to any wrongdoing. However, as Morris stated, an investigation is currently underway.
