Arkansas’ best chances to win an SEC game slipped away Saturday — along with the likelihood of making a bowl game.

Understandably, Razorbacks coach Chad Morris was quite frustrated following his team’s 45-31 loss against Vanderbilt, which also entered Saturday’s game without a conference win. Now at 2-7 overall and 0-5 in SEC play, Arkansas’ final three games come against No. 4 LSU, at Mississippi State and at Missouri.

“We didn’t play well enough (Saturday),” Morris said. “Bottom line: We didn’t play enough, Couldn’t stop the run, didn’t play well enough defensively to win. … You get what you deserve, and we didn’t deserve to win.”

The Commodores gained 250 of their 442 yards on the ground, an issue that was exacerbated by Razorbacks senior linebacker Dre Greenlaw leaving the game early with an injury.

“Any time you lose a player of that caliber, it impacts your entire team and impacts our entire defense,” Morris said. “With his ankle and inability to finish the game, it didn’t help matters.”

Arkansas is left to pick up the pieces heading into a bye week. The tough remaining stretch means Morris’ first year in Fayetteville may end with just two wins, but he’s not about to coast for the rest of the season.

“We know that our goals of getting to a bowl game are not attainable,” Morris said. “As I shared with our players, our culture is not going to change. I’m not changing, our coaching staff is not going to change. We’re going to show up every day and coach hard. We’re going to find out who’s on board.”
