Arkansas’ second-to-last shot at earning an SEC win probably won’t be any easier than the last six.

The Razorbacks (2-8, 0-6 SEC) travel to face No. 21 Mississippi State (6-4, 2-4) at noon ET on Saturday, a game that will be a massive challenge for coach Chad Morris’ offense. The Bulldogs are slightly behind only Alabama in terms of scoring defense in the SEC, and last week they held the high-flying Crimson Tide to its lowest point total of the season.

During the SEC Coaches Teleconference on Wednesday, Morris previewed his team’s trip to Starkville. He discussed preparing for Mississippi State fans’ patented cowbells, the challenges of facing the Bulldogs’ defense and injuries to a few key players.

Below are Morris’ full responses from the teleconference.

On practice music, will you mimic the cowbells this week?
  • We will work that throughout the week. We move indoors today, and we will pump up the noise in there.
On the windchill in the 20s, how was practice?
  • I thought we did some good things. We continue to rally and get better. I thought it was a good day.
On guys wearing green practice jerseys, will they play?
  • Yeah, Rakeem Boyd, Deon Edward, Devwah Whaley, we anticipate them all playing.
On facing Mississippi State’s defense:
  • I think everyone has been trying to figure that out. I think they have allowed 12 touchdowns this season. … But it comes down to us. We have to make sure we sustain blocks and mix up the run and the pass.
Is the SEC the best conference?
  • I definitely think it’s been better this year than it has been in the past. I think you can look at the way things are and the stats, it is without a doubt the best conference.
On a player getting injured at practice this week?
  • QB Daulton Hyatt has an ankle sprain. We anticipate him being back soon.
