Cole Kelly and Ty Storey have been the two consistent names brought up for the starting quarterback job at Arkansas, but it appears Chad Morris also has another name in mind.

Daulton Hyatt redshirted last season after he signed with the Razorbacks as a 3-star quarterback and the No. 21 player in the state of Alabama in the 2017 class, according to 247Sports.

While he has yet to see the field, Arkansas’ new head coach had some great things to say about him Saturday.

Hyatt has quite a task ahead of him if he wants to beat out Storey and Kelley for the starting job. Kelley has experience on his side after he stepped in and took most of the snaps last season when Austin Allen was injured. He helped Arkansas win a few games, and completed 57.6 percent of his passes for 1,038 yards and eight touchdowns.

As a senior in high school, Hyatt completed 66 percent of his passes and threw for 2,240 yards with 25 touchdowns. Obviously, the SEC is another animal in terms of competition, but if Morris likes him, it sounds like fans can expect his name to be tossed around a lot more going forward.
