It appears Sam Pittman will have to rebuild the Arkansas defense without the services of Collin Clay moving forward as the freshman defensive lineman has entered his name into the NCAA transfer portal.

News of Clay’s decision to enter the NCAA transfer portal was first reported by Trey Biddy of 247Sports. It should be noted that entering the portal does not mean Clay cannot return to the Razorbacks, this move simply allows coaches from other programs to contact him regarding a transfer.

Clay was a four-star prospect in Arkansas’ 2019 signing class and rated as the No. 20 strongside defensive end prospect in the nation. He appeared in 11 games last season for the Razorbacks. Rivals rated Clay as the No. 2 overall prospect from Oklahoma in the 2019 recruiting cycle.

Clay joins Daulton Hyatt as Arkansas players that have recently entered the transfer portal. Freshman cornerback Devin Bush, however, was in the transfer portal but removed his name following the hiring of Pittman.
