Unfortunate news to share out of Fayetteville as Arkansas did not manage to exit the team’s latest training camp scrimmage unscathed.

Word out of Fayetteville is that senior receiver Deon Stewart has been lost for the season following an ACL tear suffered in the team’s weekend scrimmage, this news was first reported by Tom Murphy of Whole Hog Sports. According to Murphy, Stewart’s mother has confirmed the news via her social media account.

Following the latest Arkansas scrimmage, Stewart tweeted out, “Adversity” with no explanation. Following that cryptic message, several of his teammates have reached out to offer their encouragement while Arkansas receivers coach Justin Stepp offered up this comment on Twitter, “Love you 13! We got your back all day everyday! You’re my guy!”

Last season, Stewart caught 22 passes for 178 yards for the Razorbacks in the first year of the Chad Morris era. For his career, Stewart has 57 catches for 616 yards and three touchdowns.

Arkansas has yet to confirm the news of Stewart’s injury.
