El Ellis, a guard transfer from Louisville, has announced a commitment to play in the SEC.

Ellis shared on social media that he’s looking forward to playing at Arkansas. He averaged 17.7 points and 4.4 assists last season. After Arkansas was busy with offers at the beginning of the transfer portal window, the Razorbacks have now landed 5 transfers, including Keyon Menifield, Tramon Mark, Khalif Battle and Jeremiah Davenport. The Razorbacks are also bringing in 2 top-30 recruits.

Ellis was a bright spot in an otherwise disappointing season for Louisville last season as he was often Louisville’s best offensive player throughout the year. Perhaps lost in the disappointing season at UofL, Ellis ranked third in the ACC in scoring on the year and joined Russ Smith, Fransicso Garcia, Reece Gaines and DeJuan Wheat as one of just 5 players at Louisville since 1992 to have 565 points and 140 assists in a single season.

The Durham, North Carolina native earned All-ACC Honorable Mention honors.
