Eric Musselman and the Arkansas Razorbacks are still basking in the glow of beating No. 1 Auburn earlier this week, and now Musselman is trying to harness that energy going forward.

Musselman was a guest on “The Paul Finebaum Show” on Thursday, and spoke about how to maximize the win.

“You do have to capitalize,” Musselman said. “When you have a building that’s got that much enthusiasm and that much momentum and the reason we sold the building out and Bud Walton Arena is one of the biggest on-campus arenas in college basketball, and to be able to sell that out preseason that was because of the momentum of the Elite 8 run.”

Musselman noted that all of the big games last year lacked the experience that he saw on Tuesday night when the celebration included him going shirtless in the aftermath.

“But luckily our fan base felt that Elite 8 run, we sold the building out,” he said. “And now, we hope that everyone who came to that game, it would be impossible for anybody not to have from an entertainment (standpoint) there’s no way you could have a more entertaining 2 hours than they had when they came to that Auburn-Arkansas game.”

Down the stretch, Musselman said Arkansas has a difficult schedule and that Arkansas won’t run the table.

“We have to continue to get better, so that when we do go to Tampa for the SEC Tournament, we’re fortunate enough to play in that NCAA Tournament, which is everybody’s goal leading into the season,” he said. “We want to continue to get better.”

Regardless of how the Auburn game ended, Arkansas improved, and that’s what the team’s mindset needs to be going forward, the coach said.
