Kelly Bryant just lost his starting quarterback job at Clemson to former 5-star recruit Trevor Lawrence, but plenty of teams would love to have him come 2019. Former Clemson QB Tajh Boyd thinks the departing Tigers signal-caller may look to the SEC.

SEC Network analyst Peter Burns shared on Twitter Wednesday that Boyd identified Arkansas as a potential landing spot for Bryant, who has graduated and can play somewhere immediately in 2019. The reason for Bryant-to-Arkansas speculation (which started on social media right after Bryant made his announcement) is the Chad Morris connection.

Morris served as Clemson’s offensive coordinator from 2011-14 before leaving to take the SMU head coaching job. Boyd was Clemson’s starting quarterback form 2011-13 and Morris was his offensive coordinator all three seasons. Bryant’s Clemson career began in 2015, meaning he did not play for Morris, but he committed to Clemson on April 17, 2014, a strong indication that he wanted to play in Morris’ offense.

Obviously, it’s too early to know what factors will play into Bryant’s decision as to where he finishes his college football career. His familiarity with Morris certainly gives the Hogs a leg up.
