Matt Landers spent 4 seasons with the Georgia football program, redshirting in 2017 and seeing limited action in 2018 before playing in 19 games in 2019 and 2020 combined.

In 2021, Landers transferred to Toledo, where he made 20 catches for 514 yards and 5 touchdowns as the Rockets went 7-6 (5-3 MAC) and recorded a Bahamas Bowl appearance. However, in the offseason, he opted to transfer once more, and is now back in the SEC with a resurgent Arkansas program.

After a 3-7 mark in 2020 and just 4 wins in 2018 and 2019 combined, the Razorbacks in 2021 won their most games since 2011 (9) and appeared in their first bowl game since 2016. They’ll be without last year’s leading receiver, Treylon Burks, as he was a 1st-round draft pick by the Tennessee Titans this spring.

In the midst of preseason camp with the Razorbacks, Landers has made an impression on his new coaches and teammates. Cornerbacks coach Dominique Bowman met with the media following Monday’s practice session and declared Landers “one of the hardest receivers for the corners to cover”, according to Southwest Times Record beat writer Christina Long.

That sentiment was echoed by defensive back Malik Chavis:

Headed into his 3rd program in his 6th and final collegiate season, Landers hopes to develop into a key weapon for KJ Jefferson as the Hogs look to make more headway in a challenging SEC West.
