First-year Arkansas head coach Sam Pittman will now have a Yurachek working for him.

Ryan Yurachek, the son of UA athletic director Hunter Yurachek, announced Friday that he has retired from the NFL and joined Pittman’s Razorback coaching staff. Ryan will be an offensive graduate assistant.

“It has been one of the toughest decisions of my life, but I have officially retired from the game of football. I am beyond excited to join the @RazorbackFB staff as an Offensive GA. Something special brewing on the hill and I am thankful to be apart of it! #WPS” Ryan wrote on Twitter.

Ryan played tight end at Marshall from 2014-17. He played in 51 games over those four seasons, recording 143 catches for 1,354 yards and 26 touchdowns (second in program history in touchdowns by a tight end, trailing only Gator Hoskins’ 28). Ryan was undrafted in 2018 and most recently played for the Dallas Cowboys as a fullback after previous time on the Oakland Raiders practice squad.
