Based on the first performance of his senior season, Arkansas is getting one heck of a quarterback prospect in San Antonio native, Lucas Coley.

Coley committed to Arkansas as a member of the 2021 recruiting cycle back in June despite the fact the program already held a commitment from in-state quarterback Landon Rogers but with Feleipe Franks only having one season of eligibility remaining (prior to the NCAA’s decision to give all players an extra year of eligibility), the Razorbacks always planned on bringing in two signal-callers in the 2021 class.

So far, that strategy appears to be a wise one as Coley led Cornerstone Christian to a season-opening 24-20 win on Friday night over Calallen, which is home to Texas’ winningest high school coach of all-time, Phil Danaher.

Currently listed as a three-star prospect and the No. 19 dual-threat QB in the country for the 2021 recruiting cycle according to 247Sports Composite Rankings — look for his ratings to rise based on the clips below — Coley had several outstanding plays during his season opener over the weekend.

Showing his ability to run and pass, Coley made Calallen defenders look foolish on these plays, which come courtesy of Nikki Chavanelle of Rivals:

Just when we thought Kendal Briles’ hire in Fayetteville couldn’t get more impressive, it appears the coach has found an incredibly talented prospect eager to suit up for the Razorbacks.
