In game that was only played because it happened to be on the schedule, Arkansas dominated Tulsa in Fayetteville on Saturday, winning 23-0.

It was a quality defensive performance for the Razorbacks, who held the Golden Hurricane to just over 200 total yards of offense and hassled Tulsa quarterback Seth Boomer into well under 50 percent completion percentage and 127 yards passing.

Offensive was hard to come back for two teams that looked like they would rather be anywhere else than on the football field.

Arkansas quarterback Connor Norland was efficient, if not impressive, going 10-of-16 for 124 yards and a touchdown. Rakeem Boyd spearheaded a rushing attack that gained nearly 200 yards.

After a scoreless first quarter, Arkansas got on the board with a 33-yard field goal from Connor Limpert early in the second to cap off a nine-play, 60-yard drive. Boyd had a 17-yard run on the drive and Norland added a 15-yard pass to Cheyenne O’Grady.

The Razorbacks found the end zone late in the first half when Norland connected with lightly-used tight end Grayson Gunter for a 7-yard score and a 10-0 lead at the half.

In the third quarter Arkansas turned a fumble recovery into a second Limpert field goal, this one from 35-yards to make it 13-0.

Later in the third quarter, a 30-yard pass from Norland to La’Michael Pettway set up a 4-yard touchdown from Maleek Williams to give the Razorbacks a 20-0 lead.
