Arkansas RB/WR T.J. Hammonds was noticeably absent from Wednesday’s practice, and now the reason why has been revealed.

According to WholeHogSports.com, Hammonds suffered a knee injury during Tuesday’s session and is expected to miss the rest of training camp.

Though the versatile sophomore, who has been working with the first team as a slot receiver so far this fall, could be back for the Hogs’ Week 1 matchup against Florida A&M, a return date has yet to be determined.

Hammonds took to Twitter on Wednesday night to thank fans for their support and say he’ll be back sooner rather than later:

Hammonds suffered a torn meniscus last year and needed surgery. There’s no word yet on the severity of this year’s injury.

As a freshman in 2016, Hammonds carried the ball 15 times for 88 yards and one touchdown.
