The two main storylines entering Arkansas’ game this week at Florida will be Sam Pittman’s absence from the sidelines while he fights a positive case of COVID-19, and QB Feleipe Franks’

During a media session on Thursday, Pittman updated his own condition, and how the Razorbacks are dealing with those emotions around defensive coordinator Barry Odom being the interim coach while Pittman stays in Arkansas.

“We haven’t used it at all to be honest with you,” Pittman said. “We’ve found over my years, you really don’t need to announce reasons to get fired up, because the kids already know. They already understand. Some of them will want to play for Feleipe and this, that and the other. Really, I just want them to play for each other. Obviously, everybody knows Feleipe was at Florida and we want him to play well when he goes back, but we’d want him to play well if he was playing Texas A&M again. We don’t use that too much. I think the kids probably use it amongst themselves for whatever reason they deem.”

Pittman gave a positive report on his health and added that he’s walking 20 minutes in morning, and 20 minutes in afternoon. He’s also drinking a vegetable mix, that almost instantly helps him.

“I’m better than I ever have been during this,” Pittman said. “I feel like every day I just get a little bit better and a little bit better. I’m excited to hopefully be through the worst part of it.”

Wednesday is expected to be the day he can return to the team.
