Arkansas is 2-3 in its first season under Sam Pittman, and despite the sub.-500 record, it has made noticeable strides from previous years. Part of that has been due to the play of graduate transfer Feleipe Franks at quarterback.

Franks hasn’t put up mind-blowing numbers, but he has been quite steady in completing 66 percent of his passes, recording over 1,200 yards in 5 games and throwing for 11 touchdowns against just 3 interceptions. He has also totaled 58 carries for 156 yards after picking up 91 yards on 16 attempts against Texas A&M on Saturday.

One notable national voice taking notice of the play of Franks is Jim Nagy, the director of the annual Senior Bowl, who made mention of the fact that Franks is receiving “draftable buzz among NFL scouts”.

“He has high-end physical traits and he’s always made some wow-type throws but this year he’s playing steadier and getting strong endorsements from Arkansas staff,” Nagy tweeted on Tuesday.

The Senior Bowl is scheduled to be played on Saturday, Jan. 30 at the new Hancock-Whitney Stadium in Mobile, Ala., which replaces longtime host Ladd-Peebles Stadium.
