Treylon Burks is going to need to step in and contribute right away at the NFL level, as he’s heading to the Tennessee Titans as a 2022 first-round pick.

The former Arkansas star steps in for AJ Brown, who was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles on the first night of the draft.

This week, QB Ryan Tannehill had praise for Burks and said he’s excited to start working with him ahead of the 2022 season (via 247Sports):

“I’m excited about Treylon, a guy who has a lot of traits and characteristics that I think fit our team well,” Tannehill said. “Had some great conversations with him and excited to add him to the mix. I don’t think we can mix the two of losing AJ and the pain, let that take away anything that Treylon brings to the table. And I told Treylon that. Yeah, I was tight with AJ — I am tight with AJ — going to miss him, but I’m also excited to add Treylon and what he brings. I think he has a lot of things, like I said, that can help us. And it’s just a matter of getting him up speed and getting on the same page. It’s going to take a lot of work, a lot of effort from everyone involved — myself, coaching staff, Treylon and all the rookies.”

Burks has some big shoes to fill after the departure of Brown. We’ll see if he can become a star as a rookie this fall.
