Arkansas coach Chad Morris closed practice recently with a discussion about being prepared, no matter the circumstances.

“You have to be ready, that’s why we practice those situations,” he said, and recalled another team pressed into action with substitutes at key special teams positions.

Then he called up walk-ons Grant Morgan, Connor Limpert and D’Vone McClure for a kicking exercise in case they were unexpectedly called into the game for that situation.

Morgan, a sophomore linebacker, Limpert a junior kicker and McClure a linebacker/defensive back and former pro baseball player, immediately jumped in.

And in a post-practice exercise increasingly common around the SEC, Morris brought down the house, and opened a hoopla of excitement when he announced, “You got to be ready for everything, because these three guys have just been put on full scholarship.”

The trio will be among the Razorbacks set to host Eastern Illinois in the season opener on Saturday.
