Chad Morris said he was excited to walk in the locker room after Arkansas’ win over Colorado State.

The Razorbacks improved to 2-1 as it was Morris’ second win against an FBS opponent as the coach at Arkansas. New starting QB Nick Starkel was 20-for-35 passing for 305 yards and 3 touchdowns.

The Razorbacks had 21 fourth-quarter points to pull away for the win.

Here’s what Morris told reporters after the win, according to Hayden Balgavy of THV11:

  • It’s great to win, to walk in to the locker room and into club dub.
  • We made some mistakes today, we did not play perfect. But our youth did some really good things … response was it. We had to and we did.
  • I said it all week long, we had a great week of practice. We challenged our guys to respond, and I started to see them respond last Saturday night in the locker room.
  • We talked about, we were going to make mistakes. There’s a lot of youth out on the field, we made some mistakes today. We did not play perfect. Our youth did some really good things and they did some things we got to improve on.
  • Don’t know on Bumper (Pool’s injury) think it was a shoulder.
  • (On the fourth quarter after last year): Our guys weren’t going to let that happen again.
  • Connor Limpert gave us a huge momentum boost. Thought that field goal could’ve been good from 60.
  • I think Nick (Starkel) opened up a lot of our run game. Very proud for him and what he did.
  • I thought our offense picked up where they left off. Nick provided that spark. Our guys responded well to him.
