Barry Odom and Brad Davis continue to be factors in Battle Line Rivalry recruiting battles.

Jalen St. John is the latest prospect to follow the former Mizzou coaches to Arkansas. The former Tigers pledge announced Wednesday that he has signed with Arkansas.

St. John is listed at 6-5, 310 pounds and rated 3-stars, the No. 11 Missouri product, No. 31 offensive guard and No. 564 prospect overall nationally in the 2020 class on the 247Sports Composite. He committed to Mizzou on July 11, 2019, but then backed off that pledge on Dec. 1, 2019, after Odom’s firing.

After his decommitment, St. John received scholarship offers from Arkansas and Florida State. According to Danny West of 247Sports, St. John considered taking an official visit to FSU this past weekend but canceled the trip to Tallahassee. He told West about his bond with his future position coach.

“Coach Davis is a real cool dude. He’s the type of coach that doesn’t always want to talk about football,” St. John said. “Sometimes he just wants to get to know you, ask you how you’ve been, what’s going on with you or your people, if your family is good — he’s a real good dude. Me and Coach Davis clicked from Day 1. He’s like another father figure because he does all of that.”

With St. John on board, Arkansas now has 20 non-transfer commitments, including 5 early enrollees. The class is ranked No. 33 nationally and No. 11 in the SEC on the Composite.
