One of the key pieces to Auburn’s strong run to the SEC Championship Game this season was QB Jarrett Stidham.

While RB Kerryon Johnson was definitely the star of the Tigers offense, Stidham provided the balance and deep threat that the offense needed when attacking SEC defenses. Stidham threw for 2,827 yards and 17 TDs with the offense and came up big in wins over Georgia and Alabama.

One thing that allowed Stidham to be so successful with the offense was the ability to get the ball out of his hands quickly. According to PFF College Football, Stidham completed 146 of 178 passes (82%) that were thrown within 2.5 seconds of the ball being snapped.

That completion percentage was good for second in all of FBS on quick throws and was a key part of the Auburn offense all season long:

Auburn will need more strong throws from Stidham if the Tigers want to take down UCF in the Peach Bowl. Kickoff for that game is set for 12:30 pm EST New Year’s Day on ESPN.
