Auburn has completed its football schedule for the 2022 season.

According to FBSchedules.com, the Tigers have added a home matchup against San Jose State of the Mountain West Conference on Sept. 10, 2022. Auburn will pay the Spartans a $1.85 million guarantee per the game contract, according to the report.

This will be the third all-time meeting between Auburn and San Jose State. The Tigers beat the Spartans, 59-13, in 2014, and then they notched a 35-21 win in 2015.

Auburn completed its 2022 non-conference schedule with the addition of this game. All four will be home contests for the Tigers, including three straight to open the season. They’ll play Mercer on Sept. 3, San Jose State on Sept. 10 and Penn State on Sept. 17. Auburn will host Western Kentucky on Nov. 19.

Although the Tigers will play eight of their 12 games at Jordan-Hare Stadium in 2022, they’ll likely have some challenging SEC road matchups. They are set to travel to Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi State and Ole Miss that season.

A pair of other SEC schools will play San Jose State before Auburn does in 2022. Arkansas is set to face the Spartans in 2020, while Georgia will play them in 2021.
