Dematrius Davis is one of the nation’s top dual-threat quarterbacks in the 2021 recruiting class, leading his North Shore High School squad to a state title as a junior in 2019.

Now, he has picked a school to attend in the fall of 2021 and beyond. On Twitter and Instagram on Sunday morning, Davis announced he was committing to Auburn. He had once been a Virginia Tech commitment and also had LSU and Texas A&M in his final 4.

Davis admits he wasn’t an Auburn fan growing up, but he was a big Cam Newton fan during the 2010 title run.

Per the 247Sports composite rankings, Davis is the No. 6 dual-threat quarterback in the class of 2021 and the No. 20 overall recruit from the state of Texas.

The Tigers now have 8 players in their 2021 recruiting class. Prior to Davis’s commitment, the Auburn class ranked No. 28 nationally and No. 6 in the SEC, per 247Sports. This is Auburn’s fourth commitment since Friday.
