Auburn lost some depth at linebacker as Michael Harris announced that he was leaving the team. A sophomore from Tucker, Georgia, Harris was a 4-star recruit coming out of high school.

He played in 11 games this season, but recorded just 3 tackles, only against Arkansas and Ole Miss. Harris didn’t elaborate much on his decision, other than to thank the Auburn coaches for giving him an opportunity to change his life.

“I thought about my decision and however, I think it’s best for me to continue to move forward,” he wrote. “… Please Respect me and my Decision. Thank you Auburn and War Eagle!”

When Harris committed to Auburn in July, 2017, he was a 6-foot-2, 213-pounder rated as the No. 11 inside linebacker nationally by 247Sports Composite and No. 27 recruit in the state of Georgia. Harris committed to the Tigers over offers from Alabama, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Ole Miss, Tennessee and Ohio State.
