Bryan Harsin has found his next offensive coordinator to replace Mike Bobo, and he went to the NFL to do it, according to a report.

Austin Davis, the Seattle Seahawks quarterbacks coach, has been offered the job and verbally accepted, sources have told Auburn Live and On3 Sports Matt Zenitz. Davis became an NFL assistant coach in 2019 after a seven-year NFL career playing for 5 teams. He took on the new role of quarterbacks coach in 2020 after one year as an offensive assistant for Seattle.

The NFL season is still ongoing, so Auburn and the Seattle Seahawks are working through the logistics of when Davis will start with the Tigers.

Davis is a Meridian, Mississippi native and Harsin targeted Davis in early December, the report noted. The 2 spoke often, and as Harsin and Davis communicated, they quickly built a good relationship. Sources indicate Harsin pitched Auburn’s newest quarterback commitment, Holden Geriner, as someone he believed Davis could help develop into a very successful quarterback at Auburn.

Sources indicate that Harsin intends to call the plays, with Davis coordinating the offense and coaching the quarterbacks.
