With all the quarterback problems Auburn is currently having, one more could surface this offseason.

John Franklin III, who transferred to the Tigers from East Mississippi Community College prior to the season, is set to graduate from Auburn this summer and could leave as a graduate transfer.

According to the Ledger-Enquirer, Franklin didn’t exactly rule out a transfer following Auburn’s Iron Bowl loss to Alabama:

“I’m going to decide at the end of the season and go with my family but right now my plans are to stay here for my fifth year,” Franklin said after Auburn lost 30-12 in the Iron Bowl.“I’ll worry about that when the season is over with. I don’t want to worry about that right now.”

Franklin, who played sparingly during the Iron Bowl, said this season hasn’t gone according to plan, but he’s trying not to get down on himself:

“Personally? No, but it’s not the first time I’ve faced adversity in my life as many of you know,” Franklin said about the season meeting his expectations. “I know how to handle that and just capture the moment when the moment is there. That’s what I’ve been doing all my life, that’s how I got to this point.”

Auburn still has a bowl game to prepare for, and Franklin said he’s on board through the end of the season. However, we’ll have to wait and see if he’s still a Tiger when the 2017 season kicks off.
