Gus Malzahn didn’t enter the season on the hot seat, but losses to Clemson, and especially at LSU when Auburn allowed 13 points in the fourth quarter, and blew a 20-point lead, have taken a toll on the Auburn coach’s job security.

Auburn radio host Ryan Brown, as a radio guest on Sports Talk with Bo in Arkansas, succinctly described how important this week’s game at Arkansas is for Malzahn and Auburn.

Earlier this week, Malzahn, who is in his fifth season, addressed the questions and concerns about his job security and frustrations from the fan base.

“The only thing I’m worried about is beating Arkansas and coming back and getting healed up for a week and try to finish this thing with the goals that we started to,” he said, according to AL.com.

Part of the issue is play calling and how it became too conservative against LSU in the minds of some fans. Similar questions about the offense surfaced after the Clemson loss.
