Auburn RB Kam Martin’s junior season on the Plains did not go as planned, but he isn’t giving up on his Tigers career.

“Man, I’m gonna be here. I ain’t going nowhere,” Martin told reporters after the Music City Bowl, per AL.com. “I’m an Auburn Tiger. Most people in my situation, they would have folded. But me, I’m a warrior. I’m a champion. You know, I owe these guys a lot.”

Martin finished second on the team in carries (103) and rushing yards (458) to Boobee Whitlow (150 carries, 787 yards). Martin earned the start in the Music City Bowl and logged 11 carries for 58 yards in the 63-14 win over Purdue.

Coach Gus Malzahn was happy with what he saw.

“Kam is one of our leaders,” Malzahn said. “He’s one of our team leaders. He’s very consistent, very good football player. Real proud of him today. He did a good job leading us.”
