Jauntavius Johnson was a 4-star defensive lineman coming out of high school in 2015 and signed with the Auburn Tigers.

However, he has yet to crack the starting lineup, and after several key defensive linemen announced they were going to return in 2019, Johnson clearly felt he needed to move on.

After announcing his intentions to transfer this week, he already has a new home. Per 247Sports, Johnson will head out to the Pac-12 and join the Colorado Buffaloes:

Less than 36 hours after defensive lineman Israel Antwine announced his intention to transfer out of the Buffaloes’ program,  defensive lineman Jauntavius Johnson told 247Sports writer Keith Niebuhr he plans to transfer to Colorado. Johnson has been in Boulder on an official visit this weekend.

Colorado recently hired Georgia DC Mel Tucker as its head coach, so Johnson will see where he fits in Tucker’s scheme.

Johnson redshirted in 2015, missed the 2016 season with an injury and has only seen limited action the past two years. He’ll have one year of eligibility remaining.
