Auburn vs. Penn State is the first CBS SEC Game of the Week selection for the 2022 season.

The 2-0 Tigers and 2-0 Nittany Lions will square off at Jordan-Hare Stadium on Saturday afternoon, with kickoff set for 3:30 p.m. Eastern time on CBS.

Auburn is off to a 2-0 start, as previously mentioned, but let’s just say the Tigers’ Week 2 win over San Jose State was lackluster, at best. The running game and defense are strong, but the passing game is leaving a lot to be desired.

QB Sean Clifford has been solid through 2 weeks, checking in tied for third in the Big Ten with 5 touchdown passes. But, to be successful on Saturday afternoon, the Tiger defense will have to slow down freshman RB Nicholas Singleton, who is averaging 105 rushing yards per game.

Jordan-Hare is a really tough place to play. Sometimes, crazy things happen on The Plains. But, with Auburn having struggled last week against San Jose State, will the Tigers be able to handle the step up in competition the Nittany Lions provide?

Expect a close game, but Penn State’s defense makes a big stop in the fourth quarter and the Nittany Lions cover the 3-point spread by the skin of their teeth.
