Auburn to be without star G Mustapha Heron for Iron Bowl rematch vs. Alabama
The Auburn Tigers have been having a great year and currently lead the SEC men’s basketball standings by two games over Tennessee.
However, they suffered a major setback when starting F Anfernee McLemore went down for the season on Saturday at South Carolina. Meanwhile, leading scorer Bryce Brown is battling a couple of minor injuries.
As the Tigers prepare for Wednesday night’s Iron Bowl rematch against Alabama, though, they’ll be down yet another star player, as G Mustapha Heron will reportedly miss the game with the stomach flu:
BREAKING: Auburn G Mustapha Heron is out tonight vs Alabama with stomach flu. Leaving the Tigers with 7 scholarship players for the game.

That leaves coach Bruce Pearl with only seven scholarship players at his disposal, which will make beating the Crimson Tide that much more difficult.
Heron is averaging 16.1 points per game, good for eighth in the SEC. That’s also second on the team to Brown, who is hobbled, too, as mentioned above.
