Auburn's dominant first half against Mississippi State has fans, media talking
Auburn has what many consider to be the best resume of 2019 so far with wins away from home against Oregon and Texas A&M. What they’re doing at home on Saturday night, however, is arguably even more impressive.
Gus Malzahn’s Tigers have jumped out to 42-9 lead on Mississippi State at the half. The dominant performance on both sides of the ball has the attention of Auburn fans, Florida fans watching UF’s Week 6 opponent, fans of other teams and some national media members.
Here’s a sample of the social media reaction to Auburn’s big first half against MSU:
Auburn on fire. This AU team feels quite a bit like the 2010 and 2013 Auburn teams right now. Start off winning ugly and then get progressively better on offense each week. Still early in the season, but the trend line so far is very impressive.

5 possessions. 5 touchdowns.
How good might the Auburn offense be when Bo Nix grows up?

I kinda think Auburn might be the best team in the SEC

Need a Halloween costume idea, dress up as this Auburn-Mississippi State game. This is about as impressive (thus scary for the Gator Nation) of a performance as I have seen by a team through the first five weeks of the season. Florida will need to bring their A game Saturday

Based on what we've seen, Auburn could very well wax that A next week vs Florida…

Auburn is beating the snot out of Mississippi State and will be 5-0 shortly.
Gotta think @CollegeGameDay will be in Gainesville for a top-10 matchup.

Florida is our next victim
And that is a bonafide lock because it's all about #Auburn, SON! https://t.co/QPph6p7nmO— Chris Cluxton (@cluxton24) September 29, 2019
Auburn put up 49 points on Todd Granthams defense in 2017. Auburn ran for 244 yards on MSU.
In 2013, Auburn put up 43 points on Todd Granthams Georgia defense.
I know 2 games isn't a large sample size, but its what we have, and in two games, Todd Grantham is awful vs Gus.

Miss State’s beloved bulldog mascot getting off easy compared to what Auburn is doing to State’s football team.
New Gus is ruthless.

Hopefully Florida puts up more of a fight vs. Auburn than Clanga. But Auburn’s due for a letdown. That’s good. But UF’s offensive line is cursed. That’s bad. But we all get free frogurt! That’s good. The frogurt is also cursed. That’s bad. But we get our choice of toppings. Tha

There may be a wide divide between Florida fans like me and the optimists coming up the next week. And it'll only get worse with a loss to Auburn. There is a strong chance Florida goes 1-3 over the next 4 games. Strong…strong chance.

Auburn is going to beat Bama by 30. Auburn is no joke. Best QB in CFB. Let them sleep. War Eagle.

Auburn is a very good team, executing at a high level. Tough defense.
