Few quarterbacks in college football, and certainly the SEC, have faced the amount of criticism as Bo Nix at Auburn.

Although he’s on his third offensive coordinator of his career, Nix has faced critiques about his development, decision making and movement in the pocket. When a play goes off script, or a receiver is covered, Nix often gets happy feet, and scrambles unnecessarily.

He was 10th in the SEC last season in completion percentage, and was tied for fifth in the league in interceptions with seven.

“No matter what you do in life — you could be the most influential person in the country, you could change so many lives, but there’s always going to be that one person who thinks you could do better,” Nix said, per Tom Green.

In an ongoing refrain throughout interviews at SEC Media Days, Nix added, “I think pressure is privilege. It’s an honor to play quarterback at Auburn.”

He also weighed in on the Iron Bowl being at Jordan-Hare Stadium this season.

“We’re not scared of Alabama,” Nix said. “A lot of people want us to be, but we’re not.”

Finally, about the changes under new coach Bryan Harsin, Nix said, “Obviously a lot of under center this year … it’s a new vantage point and a different dynamic to the offense.”
