Though Auburn is 1-1, with its only loss to defending national champion Clemson, many aren’t happy with what they’ve seen from coach Gus Malzahn’s offense.

In the Tigers’ 14-6 loss at Clemson on Saturday, highly-touted starting QB Jarrett Stidham was sacked a whopping 11 times.

On Thursday, “College Football Today” host Adam Zucker appeared on “The Opening Kickoff” on 105.5 WNSP and shared his thoughts on the Baylor transfer (via AL.com):

“Jarrett Stidham looks slow,” he said. “He had nowhere to go. Eleven sacks is no joke. Some of that stuff is he is choosing to run in advance. He’s getting stopped behind the line of scrimmage.”

As down as Zucker is on the Auburn offense, though, he’s been impressed with the defense, which held Clemson to only 14 points:

“I think Auburn’s defense is there,” he said. “Auburn’s defense is national-championship level. To allow 14 (points) at Clemson and be on the field all day. … That was an achievement.”

The Tigers play Mercer and Missouri the next two weeks, so it’ll be interesting to see if Zucker’s opinion about the Auburn offense changes in that time.
