For the first time this season, ESPN’s College GameDay will be on an SEC campus next week.

The Saturday morning pregame show announced it would be at Auburn for this year’s version of the Iron Bowl as No. 1 Alabama visits to decide the SEC West champion.

It’s a game that Alabama’s won three straight and five of the last six meetings.

The winner of the Iron Bowl has advanced to the national championship game every year but once since 2009.

This one also has major College Football Playoff implications as Auburn could still win its way into the top four if it continues the momentum it developed most recently with the lopsided win over Georgia. An Alabama win would likely keep the Crimson Tide at No. 1 in the rankings as they setup a meeting with Georgia.

The margin of victory and the SEC Championship Game will also decide if the conference can land two teams in the CFP.
