Fans respond to debate over 2-loss Auburn vs. undefeated Wisconsin teams
Auburn rose from No. 14 to No. 10 in the second College Football Playoff rankings of 2017 after a win at Texas A&M on Saturday.
The undefeated Wisconsin Badgers are sitting at No. 8, but many aren’t impressed by the Badgers’ less-than-stellar resume so far.
Auburn, meanwhile, has a chance to knock off No. 1 Georgia this weekend, which prompted ESPN analyst Booger McFarland to say Auburn has more control of its destiny than Wisconsin does:

Auburn would also have to beat No. 2 Alabama if it is going to win out, so that would be quite the impressive resume should the Tigers make it to and win an SEC title.
After the rankings were released, fans took to Twitter to respond to McFarland’s comments, with plenty of support for both Auburn and Wisconsin:
If two-loss Auburn gets in ahead of unbeaten Wisconsin, Jim Delany will release the kraken on Grapevine, Texas.

If Auburn beats Georgia, they'd totally jump Wisconsin. Right?

This has to be stopped. NO, two-loss Auburn doesn't control its destiny more than unbeaten Wisconsin. That's just wrong on so many levels.

Why would you discuss Auburn with 2 losses breaking top 4 with Miami and Wisconsin unbeaten. I don't get it? Unbeaten should mean more.

I get Wisconsin has looked underwhelming. But Auburn has 2 losses & 1 good win. C'mon. That said, I hope Auburn wins & Wisc loses this wknd.

The playoff committee and ESPN are a joke, they just said Auburn with 2 LOSES controls their own fate when Wisconsin with ZERO LOSSES doesn’t???

All this talk about Auburn beating UGA + Bama + UGA again and surpassing Wisconsin like Malzahn isn't 1-7 against top-10 teams since 2014.

Relax, Miami and Wisconsin fans. Win out, and you're in. No way, no how, no chance an unbeaten Power Five conference champion doesn't get into the College Football Playoff.

OU Bama Georgia Clemson and Notre Dame are all better than Wisconsin A SEC Champ in Auburn would be too

Obviously, there are still three weeks of the regular season left, and if Auburn loses against the Bulldogs, that pretty much does it for its CFP hopes.
It’ll be fun to see what happens, but for now, it’s an interesting debate to have.
