Auburn rose from No. 14 to No. 10 in the second College Football Playoff rankings of 2017 after a win at Texas A&M on Saturday.

The undefeated Wisconsin Badgers are sitting at No. 8, but many aren’t impressed by the Badgers’ less-than-stellar resume so far.

Auburn, meanwhile, has a chance to knock off No. 1 Georgia this weekend, which prompted ESPN analyst Booger McFarland to say Auburn has more control of its destiny than Wisconsin does:

Auburn would also have to beat No. 2 Alabama if it is going to win out, so that would be quite the impressive resume should the Tigers make it to and win an SEC title.

After the rankings were released, fans took to Twitter to respond to McFarland’s comments, with plenty of support for both Auburn and Wisconsin:

Obviously, there are still three weeks of the regular season left, and if Auburn loses against the Bulldogs, that pretty much does it for its CFP hopes.

It’ll be fun to see what happens, but for now, it’s an interesting debate to have.
