Every year, college football teams have to deal with unfortunate injuries, and the Auburn Tigers are no exception.

But, according to Gus Malzahn, at least two of the players who suffered season-ending injuries in 2016 will have an extra year of eligibility.

Malzahn told OANow.com at SEC Media Days on Thursday that RB Malik Miller and DE Paul James III were granted medical redshirts.

Miller carried the ball 16 times last year before suffering a season-ending knee injury and James only appeared in three games before he went down with a season-ending knee injury of his own.

Miller will play as a redshirt freshman in 2017, while James will enter his redshirt junior campaign.
