Auburn’s game Saturday against Liberty will be the final home game for the senior class. It could also be the final game at Jordan-Hare Stadium for junior QB Jarrett Stidham. Tigers coach Gus Malzahn discussed both Wednesday on the weekly SEC media teleconference.

Here’s what he had to say as the 6-4 Tigers prepare to host Liberty Saturday at 4 p.m. ET:

On the status of DB Javaris Davis:

  • He practiced yesterday, looks good.

On whether QB Joey Gatewood will play against Liberty:

  • We will see. He had a thumb injury early in camp, he is slowly working his way back. He is healthy now and he has been working hard.

On this senior class about to play its final home game:

  • They are a high character bunch. Their leadership has been special. This group will be successful after football. I’m proud to say I’ve coached them.

On the improvement of the offensive line this season:

  • They did some good things last Saturday. Didn’t give up a sack. We have had some injuries. We have a chance to improve.

On if QB Jarrett Stidham will come back for the 2019 season:

  • He and I will talk after the Iron Bowl and see where he is at.
