Kirk Herbstreit high on Auburn after Penn State loss, still not picking Tigers over Tide
Kirk Herbstreit joined “The Paul Finebaum Show” Tuesday evening on the SEC Network and the ESPN College Football analyst said he has been impressed by the Auburn Tigers (2-1) through 3 games this season.
No. 23 Auburn lost Saturday night in Happy Valley to No. 6 Penn State (3-0) in a hectic ‘White Out’ environment. Despite the 28-20 loss for the Tigers, Herbstreit came away impressed. Although, he still isn’t ready to pick Auburn over No. 1 Alabama (3-0) in this year’s installment of The Iron Bowl:
“I’m not saying ‘look out Alabama in the Iron Bowl,’ but I liked what I saw from Auburn in that tough environment at Penn State.”

Auburn plays host to Georgia State (1-2) of the Sun Belt Conference this week with kickoff set for 4 p.m. ET at Jordan-Hare Stadium.
The Tigers play Alabama on Nov. 27 in Auburn, but they’ll play 4 teams ranked in this week’s AP Poll before hosting the Crimson Tide.
