The Auburn Tigers added the Alcorn State Braves as their season opener for the 2020 season at Jordan-Hare Stadium, per a report by FBSchedules.com.

The game is scheduled for September 5, and Auburn will pay Alcorn State $475,000 for the game, according to the game contract that was obtained.

It will mark the first time that Auburn and Alcorn State have played one another. The Braves play in the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) and the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC).

Auburn added Alcorn State following Alabama A&M’s cancellation. The Bulldogs elected to play at Mississippi State instead of at Auburn in 2020. So, that left the Tigers with an opening they had to fill.

The Tigers will open the 2019 season against the Oregon Ducks on August 31 in the AdvoCare Classic at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
