Former Auburn K Daniel Carlson may have been the SEC’s all-time leading scorer, but that didn’t save him from getting cut by the Minnesota Vikings.

Carlson was a fifth-round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, but after a Week 2 effort in which he went 0-for-3 on field-goal attempts during a tie with the Green Bay Packers, the Vikings cut him.

Now, the former Tiger has a new NFL home. According to Matt Schneidman of the Mercury News, Carlson is the Oakland Raiders’ new kicker:

The Raiders cut rookie K Matthew McCrane after only three games with the team, opening the door for Carlson.

Will he make the most of this new opportunity? He’ll get his first shot at redemption on Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts.
