Auburn kicker Daniel Carlson may be the best in the SEC, and given his latest honors, he’s among the best in the country.

Carlson made all four field goal attempts in the 40-17 win over Georgia as Carlson made an SEC-record 88 career field goals. That helped him earn a place as one of the Palm Beach County Sports Commission’s Lou Groza Award “Stars of the Week.” Also on Monday, Carlson was named SEC Special Teams Player of the Week.

Carlson made field goals of 54, 37, 30 and 37 yards against Georgia as he extended his SEC scoring record to 456 career points. He was also 4-for-4 on extra points to remain perfect for his career (185-of-185). That passed Wes Byrum for the career mark at Auburn.

His 54-yarder on the Tigers’ opening drive was his 13th career field goal of at least 50 yards and tied for the second-longest make of his career. Carlson is 13-for-19 on attempts of 50 yards or longer for his career.
