Multiple reports that have surfaced in the last 24 hours indicate that Hugh Freeze is likely to be named the next head coach at Auburn.

ESPN’s Pete Thamel reported that the Tigers have been is discussion with Freeze for several weeks and that a formal offer could be extended after Auburn’s season finale with Alabama today.

Freeze, the former Ole Miss coach, is 34-14 in his 4th season with Liberty.

But the Flames are getting hammered at home by New Mexico State 28-7 at halftime this afternoon despite being 24-point favorites.

If Liberty and Freeze can’t rally in the 2nd half, they will have lost their 3rd consecutive game since starting the season at 8-1.

Given the news about Freeze and Auburn, it’s no surprise to see college football fans and observers on social media paying attention to the Liberty score.
