Tom Luginbill is keeping up with the transfer portal moves, and one quarterback in particular stood out when the flurry of action in the portal hit on Monday.

Speaking as a guest on “Next Round Live,” Luginbill, a college football analyst at ESPN and recruiting guru, noted Oklahoma State QB Spencer Sanders as an idea fit at Auburn under Hugh Freeze.

“When you marry Spencer Sanders and that skillset, and what we saw in the past from Hugh Freeze’s iterations with what we saw from Malik Willis and even though it’s a one and done-type scenario, what if it helps you get off the mat, right,” Luginbill said. “What if it helps you accelerate the improvement of the program, generate momentum with the program? I like that marriage of the offensive identity and the skillset and a guy that’s played a lot of football, been highly successful.”

Sanders played in 10 games this season and finished with 2,642 yards, 17 touchdowns and 9 interceptions with 8 rushing touchdowns. He also passed for more than 2,000 yards the previous 2 seasons.
